Today's Pick: MIA (+105) ML @ CIN

Miami travels to the Great American Ballpark for a three game set with the Cincinatti Reds.  Both teams are technically still in contention for the NL Wild Card.  Resignation and slack wont be an issue.  Expect both teams to be playing for the win tonight.

Sandy Alcantara (13-6) starts for Miami.  Alcantara might be the best starting pitcher in baseball when he gets it going and over his last five starts, he has posted a 1.63 ERA and a 0.97 WHIP.  He has a 20 inning scoreless streak working and will be looking for his fourth win in row tonight when he takes the ball in Cincinnati.

Chase Burns (13-2) starts for Cincinnati.  He has been the Reds' best starter this season and is definitely capable of shutting the Marlins down tonight but his last start out, Burns allowed five earned runs against the Nationals.  He can be scored on and I like Miami's lineup more than I like the Nationals.

Ultimately this game comes down to Alcantara.  He is on fire right now and is back to being the pitcher that he was in '23 when he won the Cy Young.  The Marlins' bullpen is well rested and are pitching as good as they have all season.  The Reds' bullpen is a complete disaster.  They threw 98 pitches on Thursday in a 9-8 win over the White Sox and 53 pitches on Wednesday.  It's a shaky group that has been worked this week.

The Marlins have a good opportunity to win tonight and the price on Alcantara and the Fish at (+105) is nice.  With 1.87 units in play, I'm going to press it all for the double up.
