MLB Pickstreak's 2026 NL All-Snubs Team

I had initially planned on compiling a Pickstreak All-Star Team roster for both the AL and the NL, with players selected from the entire universe of MLB.  That route would have had significant overlap with the actual teams chosen for the game on Tuesday night.  

I voted for each team at the official MLB.com website and after the official 2026 MLB All-Star rosters were released, as decided on by both the fan vote and the coaches selections, I noticed that a good number of players were getting "snubbed" for one reason or another.  Players that should have had a spot on the team or at the very least some sort of honorable mention.

What I have set out to do here on the Pickstreak Blog for the 2026 season is to create two additional teams, the AL All-Snubs and the NL All-Snubs, complete with Honorable Mentions.  

After both the AL All-Star and NL All-Star team rosters have been finalized, and all the replacement players have been named by MLB, a player pool remains unselected, without honors, and it is from that player pool that the Pickstreak All-Snubs teams are composed. 

Without further adieu, here is your 2026 NL All-Snubs Team:

C - Gilbert Moreno:  Moreno, acquired in the off-season of the '23 season in a trade with the Toronto Blue Jays already has a Gold Glove at the position.  His bat is one of the best at the catcher's position too.  Moreno has posted a slash of .301/.385/.436 this season in 275 plate appearances for the Diamondbacks.  Signed to a one-year contract for 2.55M in his first season of arbitration, '26 has been his best season yet.  He is a true snub.  Baldwin got the fan vote, Goodman slugged his way in and deserves to be the starter and Contreras is having a good season, but Moreno should be the backup catcher in the NL and if you carry three, Ruiz should be in too.  

Honorable Mention:  WAS - Keiber Ruiz, MIA - Joe Mack, NYM - Luis Torrens

1B - Luis Garcia Jr.:  Luis Garcia Jr. in his second year of arbitration is putting up big numbers for the Nationals this season.  Signed by the Nats as an International Free Agent at the age of 17, Garcia made his way to the majors relatively quickly and posted a breakout season in '24.  Some regression in '25 left the Nats unsure of what they had in Garcia Jr. but his '26 campaign should leave no doubt.  Garcia Jr. is an All-Snub.  1B in the NL is stacked, there are four players who could be in line to start the All-Star game, Garcia is one of them.  

Honorable Mention:  PIT - Spencer Horowitz, COL - TJ Rumfield, MIL - Jake Bauers

2B - Brice Turang:  The All-Snubs' team has the four best second baseman in the NL. Turang gets the start over Brandon Lowe and JJ Wetherholt but it's a close call.  Turang is the more established hitter over Wetherholt and his speed and OBP plays up on Lowe but all three could be starting at 2B for the NL All-Star team over Atlanta's Ozzie Albies.  I am a big fan of Luis Arraez, he is the backup for the NL this season and I believe he deserves his recognition, but if I had to take one player into '27, it would be Turang or Wetherholt.  

Honorable Mention:  MIA - Xavier Edwards, STL - JJ Wetherholt, PIT - Brandon Lowe

3B - Nick Gonzalez:  His .322 batting average is inflated by a .385 BABIP (batting average balls in play) and his defense isn't quite as good as Machado, Bregman, Arenado and Chapman's but Gonzalez is hitting .322 and that is an outstanding first half.  We're unsure if he can keep that sort of production up, it's unlikely, but we are going to reward Gonzalez for his efforts and like him as the starter on the NL All-Snubs despite having a better glove in our Honorable Mentions.  Curtis Mead likely lands the backup job, great season for Mead as well.  

Honorable Mention:  COL - Kyle Karros, WAS - Curtis Mead, AZD - Nolan Arenado

SS - Elly De La Cruz:  This season the NL All-Snubs team gets Elly De La Cruz at shortstop and that's a big win.  If we were to draft shortstops at the beginning of the year, EDLC would likely be the first player selected.  His game has evolved and improved year to year, he is playing excellent defense and he is a legitimate 40/40 talent.  30/30 should be a breeze for this guy in a full season of at-bats.  De La Cruz missed some time this season with a hamstring injury and for one reason or another the fans chose Abrahms and his bad defense but Elly and Otto Lopez are the best two shortstops in the NL this season.  

Honorable Mention:  PIT - Konnor Griffin, CHC - Dansby Swanson, AZD - Geraldo Perdomo

RF - Seiya Suzuki:  Seiya Suzuki is the most consistent hitter in the Cubs' lineup despite Crow-Armstrong getting hot into the All-Star break and this season, he is playing some pretty good defense in right field.  The Cubs' extended Nico Hoerner and the aforementioned PCA and let Suzuki and Happ flail in the wind.  Both are likely to test free agency and the Cubs, they might lose Suzuki because he is likely to be in high demand.  The 2yr/29M that Ryan O'Hearn landed from the Pirates seems far too light for Suzuki. I'd think, in his age 32 season, that he'd be good for half of what the Polar Bear Pete Alonso landed (5yr/155M) in his age 31 season. Suzuki should be good for a floor of 4yr/75M this off season and that is a potential bargain for a right fielder who is on track to post his second straight .800+ OPS season.

Honorable Mention:  SFG - Jung Hoo Lee, PIT - Ryan O'Hearn, COL - Troy Johnston

CF - Michael Harris II:  It's hard to argue Crow-Armstrong and Andy Pages for the NL All-Star Team but we are happy to have Michael Harris II on the All-Snubs team.  Harris has popped 15 homers this season and has an .820 OPS to go along with some pretty good defense in center field.  His work on the basepaths is light, his OBP isn't spectacular but his power game and defense earns him the nod here.  Jake Mangum is having a heck of a season and AJ Ewing also looks like a good player but this season, Harris II has earned the start for the Pickstreak All-Snubs Team.

Honorable Mention:  MIL - Garrett Mitchell, PIT - Jake Mangum, NYM - AJ Ewing

LF - Bryan Reynolds:  Reynolds is having a massive year at the plate for Pittsburgh this season and this Pirates' team was counting on their veteran outfielder more than ever coming into '26.  Reynolds has handled the pressure and has delivered an .872 OPS for the Bucs, helping his team remain in contention into the All-Star break. Only Soto, Wood, Crow-Armstrong, Moniak, O'Hearn and Bleday have been better offensively as outfielders with 150 plate appearances or more this season.  

Honorable Mention:  MIL - Jackson Chourio, CIN - JJ Bleday, SFG - Heliot Ramos

DH - Mickey Moniak:  Speaking of Mickey Moniak, let's slot him in as the NL All-Snubs designated hitter.  Moniak has missed some time but has enough PAs to make the team and his .900 OPS on the season plays well in the lineup.  Moniak hits better when he is playing the outfield and he has lined up at all three spots this season.  He hasn't gotten great grades on his glove work but he crushes right-handed pitching and has shown some prodigenous power.  He's a former 1/1 and I think he has the potential to be a great player both on offense and on defense.  A team needs to carve him out a spot in the outfield and sign him to a long-term deal.  He fits well in Colorado with Goodman, Rumfield and Johnston and with Charlie Condon up soon, the Rockies will have a squad of mashers and that is exciting.  It will be a sad day for Rockies' fans if they decide to trade him at the trade deadline.

Honorable Mention:  MIA - Liam Hicks, SFG - Bryce Eldridge, MIL - Andrew Vaughn

UTIL - Casey Schmitt:  We added a utility player on the team and this spot is, in a way, the most awesome group of players on our team this season.  Schmitt edges out Dubon, Sanoja and Rojas here but all four players deserve some cred this season for their ability to play all over the diamond.  Schmitt is, in a way, the biggest snub on this NL All-Snubs team outside of our starting pitcher.  He has done it all this season.  He's played some left field, all four positions on the infield and has gotten some at-bats as the Giants' DH too.  What's he done with them?  Cranked 19 homers and posted an .805 OPS.  He's proven to be the Giants' MVP this season and is a player that should be in line for a JJ Wetherholt / Konnor Griffin sort of extension.  

Honorable Mention:  ATL - Mauricio Dubon, MIA - Javier Sanoja, LAD - Miguel Rojas

SP - Zach Wheeler:  What's Zach Wheeler doing on the All-Snubs team?  This guy returned from Thoracic Outlet Surgery at the end of April and he has dominated to a (10-1) record and a 2.13 ERA.  The NL is stacked with good starting pitchers but Wheeler is a veteran and deserves the All-Star nod because of it.  We are happy to have him here on the NL All-Snubs team and will be rooting for Wheeler to bring home the Cy Young at the end of October. 

Honorable Mention:  MIA - Sandy Alcantara, AZD - Michael Soroka, STL - Michael McGreevy, NYM - Nolan McLean, MIL - Kyle Harrison

LHRP - Adrian Morejon:  We went with Morejon here as our left handed relief pitcher.  Scott and Lee have better numbers but Morejon is a tough competitor and he seems to have something special about him in a way that not many players do.  It's a real tenacity and a focused concentration and an ease too.  There doesn't look to be a pitcher in baseball throwing 98 mph heaters as easily and as controlled as Morejon.  His delivery looks effortless and in some way he is just a better pitcher.  He is an All-Snub all day and there isn't a southpaw reliever in baseball that we'd rather have on our team.

Honorable Mention:  ATL - Dylan Lee, LAD - Tanner Scott, AZD - Brandyn Garcia

RHRP - Robert Suarez:  Nastiest heater in MLB if you ask me about it.  "The Miz" might have a few MPH on Suarez and he is getting good results but Suarez, healthy, his fastball is so nasty.  He is so fast through the slot and hides the ball so well that honestly, watching the highlights, Misiorowski's heater looks far easier to time than Suarez.  He gets some crazy movement on his heater too.  Suarez is one of the best closers in MLB when he has the job. This season he slots in behind Raisel Iglesias.  If we were just looking at the fastball, I'd take Suarez over Mason Miller.  

Honorable Mention:  NYM - Luke Weaver, AZD - Juan Morillo, PHI - Jonathan Bowlan

Closer - Raisel Iglesias:  Speaking of Iglesias, he gets the nod to close games for the NL All-Snubs team.  Iglesias is tough in the ninth, a veteran of the closer's role.  He has racked 19 saves this season for Atlanta and hasn't faltered much outside of a brief stint on the injured reserve.  Braves' bullpen is stacked this season and Iglesias, as the senior member of the group, has held down the ninth admirably.  

Honorable Mention:  AZD - Paul Sewald, MIL - Trevor MeGill, MIA - Pete Fairbanks

LEGEND OF THE GAME - (P) Carlos Carrasco:  Technically, Carlos Carrasco is the senior member of the Braves' bullpen this season and we choose Carrasco as our Legend of the Game.  17 seasons and a career 4.24 ERA, 112 wins and 1703 strikeouts in 1704 innings.  Carrasco is being added and dropped in a way that makes his season less enjoyable.  He should be a captain and a constant presence in that bullpen.  We don't have much else to say about it.  We are hoping Carrasco makes the post-season roster and is pitching in the playoffs for Atlanta come October.  Carlos Carrasco is MLB Pickstreak's All-Snubs Team Legend of the Game in '26.  

That's the NL All-Snubs Team for 2026, starters and honorable mentions for every position complete with our Legend of the Game and Team Captain, Carlos Carrasco.

It was an effort putting this together.  It has been a difficult week but I set out to get this post in before the All-Star Game on Tuesday and I accomplished my goal.  

The AL Team has been selected.  As soon as I complete the writeup for all the starters I'll post it up.  It should be finished before the start of tomorrow night's MLB All-Star Game and then I'm taking a few days off too.  Looking forward to the break.

Postgame Report: MIN -1.5 (-120) Loss

It's 8-2 in the eighth.  Twins lost this one.  Joe Ryan had a bad game.  I'm not looking into this one too far. Today's Pick: A 2 Team Parlay

I have 1.56 units in play after yesterday's quasi-disappointment.   I'm going to rack a unit, and play a two team parlay tonight.  I've been stuck on 32 units banked for two weeks now.   I can't stand the number 32.  It has everything to do with Magic Johnson.  I don't like magic and I don't like Johnson.   Anyhow, now that we have 33 units in the bank, I feel better. Jose Canseco wore number 33.  Still one of my favorite players of all time.   No analysis today, I'm just making a pick.  My season for the most part is over.  I have 0.56 units in play, 4.0 units in my account, and 33 units in the bank.   The pick is a parlay on the Astros (-350) ML / Blue Jays (-175) ML for a (+105) payout. Postgame Report: MIL (-130) Winner

The Brewers kept it rolling last night, winning their fifth game in a row with a 7-2 victory over the Braves.   Joey Wentz cruised through the first two innings.  He had three K's and retired six in a row.   Brewer's center fielder Blake Perkins led off the third with a base hit.  Danny Jansen flew out to right.  Perkins stole second base.  Nine hole hitter Joey Ortiz put the ball in the gap and recorded an infield single that moved the runner to third.  Leadoff hitter Caleb Durbin walked to load the bases.   Bases loaded with one out.   Joey Wentz got a shallow fly ball from William Contreras.  Two down with Christian Yellich at the plate.  He got ahead 0-2 on Yellich and made a good pitch with the curveball but the veteran didn't chase.  Yellich collected an RBI on an infield hit that scored Perkins from third.  It's a 1-0 game.  Andrew Vaughn at the plate.  Wentz got ahead of Vaughn 0-2 and...
