Today's Pick: "Brave Fish" Two-Team Parlay (+182)
I often think about getting a saltwater fish tank. I really love the tropical fish. I sometimes think that it's no good to support that industry because the fish are much happier in the sea but then I think about it more, I know that I will give them a better home than the fish store and if I get a large enough tank and take good care of it, a few of those captive fish will have a good life under my care. So I might go for that one day.
Today, I'm going in for a two-team parlay that pays out at (+182).
I passed on Skenes, I passed on Cole and I'm passing on Burns. I like Max Meyer and the Marlins and Grant Holmes and the Braves tonight.
MIA (-155) ML vs. AZD
Max Meyer (6-0) starts tonight at home against Arizona. D'Backs traveled Monday and were likely fooling around all afternoon in Miami. I have heard Miami is good for that. They have their work cut out for them tonight. Max Meyer is pitching really well and his numbers at Loan Depot are impressive. In seven home starts this season, Meyer has held opponents to a slash line of .163/.256/.220. The Marlins' hurler has been equally tough on left-handed hitters. Lefty bats are hitting .169/.263/.257 against Meyer on the season. Marte, Perdomo and Vargas are all switch hitters who do their best work from the strong side (as righties). It's a good matchup for Meyer tonight.
Zach Gallen (3-5) starts for Arizona. Gallen hasn't been a front of the rotation starter the entire season. Over his Last5 starts, he's posted a 6.23 ERA and a 1.58 WHIP. The Marlins can get some runs off Gallen tonight.
There is a big advantage in this starting pitching matchup and the price at (-155) is nice. It's a 5:40 PM CDT first pitch from Loan Depot Park in Miami, FL.
ATL (-140) ML @ CHW
Grant Holmes (4-2) has put in some good innings this season. His numbers don't pop off the charts but he has been effective over his Last5 with a 3.21 ERA and a 1.35 WHIP. I think it's a good matchup for Holmes. Holmes has been susceptible to the home run ball and lefty power hitters are his nemesis. The White Sox are still without Murakami and lefty-slugger Colson Montgomery is out of the lineup with back tightness. Switch-hitting catcher Drew Romo does his best work from the strong-side. It's a soft lineup tonight. Holmes can get six innings.
Erick Fedde (1-5) is likely to get the bulk of the work for Chicago tonight. Reliever Brandon Eisert is set to open the game. White Sox have a good bullpen and that could come into play late but the plan is Fedde for four or five innings. Fedde is at best a five. He can pitch, and he likes playing for this team but three runs off Fedde is always a good bet.
I think the Braves can win a low scoring game. Their bullpen is completely rested and is one of the best groups in MLB. I like the lineup with Dubon at shortstop and Dominic Smith at DH. Braves can score runs and slug it out too. Ronald Acuna Jr. certainly wants to put a HR or two on his bro's team. A Ronnie Acuna round-tripper would set it off tonight.
I like the Braves tonight. It's Acuna vs. Acuna at Rate Field and that is exciting. Game starts at 6:40 PM CDT.
We carried over 1.66 units from last night's win. I'm going to press it all on tonight's action. Package those games up in a two-team parlay at (+182) and print me a ticket.
