Today's Pick: "Doozie" Two-Team Parlay (+200)

I'm tempted to stack the Brewers and the Yankees on this doozie but the two-team parlay looks nice at (+200).  This doozie is all I got today.  You can always break out the word doozie for a good laugh but you can't overuse it.    Two games look good tonight.

I'm not thrilled by the prospect of betting on the White Sox, especially without Munetaka Murakami in the lineup.  The pitching matchup this evening looks too good to pass on.

Davis Martin (8-1) starts for Chicago.  Martin has firmly established himself as the White Sox ace.  He has been as good as any starter in MLB into June with 8 of his 11 starts on the season qualifying as quality starts (6.0 innings pitched, 3 earned runs or less).  His 2.00 ERA is well within the Top10 of all qualified starting pitchers this season.  If the AL Cy Young award were awarded this evening, Davis Martin has a 50/50 chance to win the award.  That's how good he has pitched this season.  With a well-rested bullpen available for White Sox Manager, Will Veneable, to deploy late in the game, a quality start from Martin likely wins this game for the White Sox.

Connor Prielipp (1-3) starts for Minnesota.  Prielipp is a rookie with 33.1 innings of MLB service under his belt.  It's a small sample size.  His numbers suggest he is a solid back of the rotation starter.  A four at best, likely a five.  Prielipp is a lefty who has had trouble against left-handed hitters and that could favor the White Sox who still have Colson Montgomery and Andrew Benintendi in the middle of their lineup.  I'm betting the Sox can get four runs off Prielipp early.

Minnesota's bullpen is also well-rested and they could potentially win this game with a strong effort in relief of Prielipp tonight but they aren't as strong of a group at the top.  The White Sox have an advantage in the bullpen tonight.

Minnesota can string it together on occassion but outside of Buxton and Larnach, they have struggled to hit consistently this season.  The White Sox can hit with Minnesota without Murakami in the lineup.

I like the White Sox tonight and (-125) is a good price on a (1) Martin vs. a (5) Prielipp.  Reminds me of Pete Sampras vs. Jim Courier at the US Open.  A one seed vs. a five seed tonight from the Target Center in Minneapolis, MN.  It's a 6:40 PM CDT first pitch.

SEA (-150) ML vs. NYM

I also like Seattle tonight.  The Mariners are riding a 7-game winning streak and it's Logan Gilbert on the bump.  Gilbert (3-4) got off to a rough start this season and hasn't pitched well at T-Mobile Park (it's T-Mobile Park now, I've been referring to it as Safeco all season).  He's allowed 10 dingers on his home turf this season.  I have to imagine it is some kind of fluke because T-Mobile (Safeco) Park is notorious for being a pitcher's ballpark.  Gilbert has pitched well in his Last2 and when he gets it going, he is tough to hit against.  He dials it up to 97 mph, throws a splitter and a changeup, mixes in a cutter, has a big curveball and throws a wipeout slider.  He has one of the best repertoire's in MLB and when he is on, he is an ace.

The Mets haven't announced their starter but it will be some combination of Hector Brazoban, Jonah Tong and Cionel Perez. The Mets' bullpen threw 70 pitches in relief of Sean Manaea last night and they will likely be called on for a similar effort tonight in relief of Tong.  Tong was called up at the end of May to replace injured veteran Clay Holmes.  He is a good prospect and has yet to allow an earned run this season but he has only pitched 6.2 innings on the year.  With the bullpen heavily worked, Tong will be relied on for five innings tonight.  If he issues walks at his current rate of 7.26 BB/9, it will likely be a long night for the Mets.

Seattle has been scoring runs and winning games.  They have one of the leagues' best pitchers on the mound and their Top5 in the bullpen is as good as any team in MLB.  I like the price on this game at (-150) and like the M's to get a win.  8:40 PM CDT start from T-Mobile Park in Seattle, WA.

I'm fading the rookies tonight.  Aces in the hole.  Bullpens on my side. Package it up for a (+200) payday.
