Pick Result: "Smooth Sailin" Three-Team Parlay - LOSS

1 for 3 last night on our picks and that's good for an MLB batsman but in our game it's a loss.  You have to win all three games to cash a parlay ticket.

Chris Sale didn't have a great start, allowed 10 hits and three earned runs and takes the loss for Atlanta.  Wrobleski had a good start and the Dodgers were in great position to win that game last night but couldn't score the runs.  Ryne Nelson gets the win and the Diamondbacks split the series.

The Royals managed to win a game and it was the offense to credit.  KC scored eight runs in an 8-6 victory over the Twins.  Seth Lugo didn't pitch all that well but the Twins' bullpen is as bad as we had counted on them being.

Pickstreak is 12-12 on picks this season, 12 wins and 12 losses, right at .500 with the average odds per pick hovering right around (-130).  Probability says we should be winning 56.50 percent of our picks.  Luck hasn't been on our side this season.

I continue to reiterate that I like every pick and every bet that I have made.  I put the effort in to find the best games with the most edge, the best values at the best prices.  The advantage as I see it hasn't played out.  50 percent winners is likely a losing season.

Pickstreak won 60 percent of our picks last season and still finished the season down 7 units, a 17.5 percent drawdown on our buy-in (40 units).

We bought in for 50 units this season and that is a sunk cost to play the game.  With 6 units in the bank, our max loss is now 44 units.  Our goal is to recoup the buy-in and finish in the green.

On the season, 10 units wagered, 6 units in the bank. 4 units to the bookies.  We are on pace for a 40 percent loss on our investment this year.

We've done a good amount of losing this season but if we can string together a few wins we'll be right where we need to be heading into the second half of the season.

All the numbers can be confusing and somewhat difficult to follow:  win rates, units, current account.

The only number that matters at the end of the year is how many units are in the bank.  51 units is a winning season.

40 units remaining in the Current Account.  We have to turn 40 units into 45 units and when you put it that way, we still have a very good opportunity to win this season.
