Pick Result: "Smooth Sailin" Three-Team Parlay - LOSS

1 for 3 last night on our picks and that's good for an MLB batsman but in our game it's a loss.  You have to win all three games to cash a parlay ticket.  

Chris Sale didn't have a great start, allowed 10 hits and three earned runs and takes the loss for Atlanta.  Wrobleski had a good start and the Dodgers were in great position to win that game last night but couldn't score the runs.  Ryne Nelson gets the win and the Dimaonbacks split the series.  

The Royals managed to win a game and it was the offense to credit.  KC scored eight runs in an 8-6 victory over the Twins.  Seth Lugo didn't pitch all that well but the Twins' bullpen is as bad as we had counted on them being.

I'm 10-10 on picks this season, 10 wins and 10 losses, right at .500 with the average odds per pick hovering right around (-130).  Probability says I should be winning 56.50 percent of my picks.  Luck hasn't been on my side this season.  

I continue to reiterate that I like every pick and every bet that I have made.  I put the effort in to find the best games, the best values and to an edge in each an every game I select.

Odds posted at (-275) says that the favorite wins this game three out of every four times the game is played.  Last night, the Blue Jays beat the Braves, 7-2, and it is the outlier.  The one in four.  The game happened to be on our card last night and that makes our bet a loss.

We bought in for 50 units and that was a sunk cost to play the game.  With 6 units in the bank, our max loss is now 44 units.  Our goal is to recoup our buyin and finish in the green.  

We are here to play all 50 units and to make bets until the current account is busted.  A loss and we buy-in for another unit, one unit at a time.  40.0 units remaining in the Current Account. 

On the season, 10 units wagered, 6 units in the bank. 4 units to the bookies.  We are on pace for a 40 percent loss on our investment. 

Plenty of ammo in the Current Account.   We've done a good amount of losing this season but If we can string together a few wins we'll be right where we need to be heading into the second half of the season.

Today's Pick: A 2 Team Parlay

I have 1.56 units in play after yesterday's quasi-disappointment.   I'm going to rack a unit, and play a two team parlay tonight.  I've been stuck on 32 units banked for two weeks now.   I can't stand the number 32.  It has everything to do with Magic Johnson.  I don't like magic and I don't like Johnson.   Anyhow, now that we have 33 units in the bank, I feel better. Postgame Report: NYY (-215) Winner

That's six wins in a row for the Pickstreak blog.  We crushed that pick into the upperdeck. Carlos Rodon had a great start in front of the New York crowd and the Yanks' bats scored nine runs and hit three homers.  Twins' starter Travis Adams was out of the game in the third.  Minnesota's bullpen gave up seven hits, seven walks and five earned.   The Yanks bullpen locked it down.  Yankees win 9-1. The Yankees were not a sure thing.  Rodon had two fairly bad starts coming into last night's contest.  The Yankees were 3-7 over their last ten and the Twins had played some good baseball.   Following the game closely everyday, you can pick up on some minutia that isn't necessarily in the stats or in the boxscores.   I feel like this series with the Twins is a turning point for the Yankees' season.  I think the Yanks are going to win some games in August with Luis Gil, Cam Schlittler and Will Warren all turning it up a notch....

Postgame Report: MIN -1.5 (-120) Loss

It's 8-2 in the eighth.  Twins lost this one.  Joe Ryan had a bad game.  I'm not looking into this one too far. I picked the game I liked the most, it was the heaviest favorite on the board outside of the Orioles and the pitching matchup, in my opinion, was as good as it gets. Mitchell Parker had a good game.  One thing I can't understand is why Rocco Baldelli stacked his lineup with righties to start the game.  I get that Parker is a lefty but if you look at his splits and you look at his pitch stats, you can see clearly that he gets outs against right handed hitters and gets mashed by lefties.   Baldelli left all three of his lefties on the bench tonight.  Both of the Twins switch hitters took at bats from the right hand side of the plate.  Eight righties in the Twins lineup tonight opened up Parker's game and he got the win.   I noticed it before the game started.  I should have taken the bet off but thought that Ryan and th...
