Pick Result: "Slump Buster" Two-Team Parlay - WIN
What a game last night, I wasn't up for it but 11 homers at the Sac Dome.
That had to be one of the most exciting games played this season. I bet that place was jumping last night. Fun times playing MLB games at the AAA ball park.
The A's wrecked Brewer's starting pitcher, Kyle Harrison, for three homers and eight earned runs. He was out of the game in the third inning.
Springs goes five innings for Sacramento but was far from unscathed in this one. The Brewers knocked him for a pair of homers in the second inning and five earned runs before he was relieved in the top of the sixth. Springs exits as the pitcher of record with an 8-5 lead.
To the bullpens we go. It's Luis Medina for the A's. Medina pitches a clean sixth and A's manager, Mark Kotsay, trying to conserve his bullpen for the week ahead, sends Medina out to the mound in the top of the seventh. Jake Bauer's cranks one over the center-field fence.
A homer off the bat of Tyler Soderstrom in the bottom half makes it a 10-7 A's lead into the eighth inning.
Brewers get a run in the eighth on an error and a wild pitch. It's 10-8 A's into the top of the ninth inning.
A's closer Hogan Harris enters the game. William Contreras leads off the inning with a base hit for the Brew Crew. Harris walks Jake Bauers. A bases-clearing double off the bat of Andrew Vaughn makes it a 10-10 game. It's a blown save for Harris and this game is into extra innings.
Brewers get four runs in the top of the tenth and this game is all but over. Aaron Ashby is on for Milwaukee in the bottom of the tenth. Ashby gets the first two batters he faces and the Brewers are an out away from putting this game in the bag. Fans are heading towards the exits when Shea Langeliers gets a base knock that drives in the Manfred Runner. The fans who stayed are rewarded with an epic two-run blast off the bat of Nick Kurtz, his second of the night. He hit that ball into the parking lot! Backup catcher, Jonah Heim, pinch-hits for Lawrence Butler and ties the game, 14-14, with a solo homer and the A's send it to the 11th inning.
What a game. A's couldn't complete the comeback but it was a great effort and a game that Sacramento fans won't forget anytime soon. Brewers get the win, 15-14, after 12 innings of play.
Christopher Sanchez goes seven innings for the Phillies in a 5-2 win over the Blue Jays and the Pickstreak blog gets a win last night. Our parlay bet hits and that is also exciting. A win snaps our six-pick losing streak.
It's not the way we saw it going down, we were expecting a good start from Kyle Harrison but we'll take the win nonetheless. Make a note, the A's have crushed left-handed pitching this season.
With the win, Pickstreak is going to rack a unit. We would press it all into today's action but we haven't put any money in the bank in a while.
We do have 1.66 Units in Play remaining and that figure carries over into today's action. It's a full slate of games on Tuesday and there are a good number of Aces on the mound tonight. Plenty of time to put in some research. There is a winner on that board. I'm going to dig in and see if I can extract another parlay payday.
Stay Tuned for Tuesday Game Day and Today's Pick.
