Pick Result: NYY (-155) ML @ ATH - LOSS

It's a tough loss on a big bet.  I won nearly 65% of my games last season and lost every big bet.  It led to a losing season.  

The first big bet of the 2026 season is a loser too.  My entire system is based on winning these bets.  If I can't win them I wont fare well.

In that way, it's a very disappointing loss.

I'm getting tired of Aaron Boone.  Doval is an enigma to Boone who'd rather let Weathers work the seventh inning against a pair of righties than call Doval into the game.  Weathers gets the two righties and the lefty Kurtz takes him deep, a two-run homer that makes it 5-1 A's.  That one will really screw with his head.  Doval was an easy call in seventh.  

The Yankees' bullpen needed to throw last night.  The entire bullpen was ready to work.  They haven't thrown the ball all week.

Boone goes to Weathers in the seventh and it's a complete lack of confidence in his bullpen.  Yankees may be winning but Boone is stinking it up.

JT Ginn won the game.  Langeliers, Soderstrom and Kurtz got the big hits.  It's always a possibility that those three will wreck whoever is on the mound, righty or lefty, they are three of the best hitters in MLB.  

I thought it was a good pick and a good opportunity to leverage a big stack.  The number looked good at (-155).  It's a loss and the Pickstreak blog rolls on.

Today's Pick: A 2 Team Parlay

I have 1.56 units in play after yesterday's quasi-disappointment.   I'm going to rack a unit, and play a two team parlay tonight.  I've been stuck on 32 units banked for two weeks now.   I can't stand the number 32.  It has everything to do with Magic Johnson.  I don't like magic and I don't like Johnson.   Anyhow, now that we have 33 units in the bank, I feel better. Postgame Report: NYY (-215) Winner

That's six wins in a row for the Pickstreak blog.  We crushed that pick into the upperdeck. Carlos Rodon had a great start in front of the New York crowd and the Yanks' bats scored nine runs and hit three homers.  Twins' starter Travis Adams was out of the game in the third.  Minnesota's bullpen gave up seven hits, seven walks and five earned.   The Yanks bullpen locked it down.  Yankees win 9-1. The Yankees were not a sure thing.  Rodon had two fairly bad starts coming into last night's contest.  The Yankees were 3-7 over their last ten and the Twins had played some good baseball.   Following the game closely everyday, you can pick up on some minutia that isn't necessarily in the stats or in the boxscores.   I feel like this series with the Twins is a turning point for the Yankees' season.  I think the Yanks are going to win some games in August with Luis Gil, Cam Schlittler and Will Warren all turning it up a notch....

Postgame Report: MIN -1.5 (-120) Loss

It's 8-2 in the eighth.  Twins lost this one.  Joe Ryan had a bad game.  I'm not looking into this one too far. I picked the game I liked the most, it was the heaviest favorite on the board outside of the Orioles and the pitching matchup, in my opinion, was as good as it gets. Mitchell Parker had a good game.  One thing I can't understand is why Rocco Baldelli stacked his lineup with righties to start the game.  I get that Parker is a lefty but if you look at his splits and you look at his pitch stats, you can see clearly that he gets outs against right handed hitters and gets mashed by lefties.   Baldelli left all three of his lefties on the bench tonight.  Both of the Twins switch hitters took at bats from the right hand side of the plate.  Eight righties in the Twins lineup tonight opened up Parker's game and he got the win.   I noticed it before the game started.  I should have taken the bet off but thought that Ryan and th...
