Pick Result: "Brave Fish" Two-Team Parlay - LOSS

Braves lose 6-5 on a walk-off home run in the bottom of the tenth inning.  That's a tough loss, I wasn't up for the conclusion of the game, but to lose the bet with a one-run lead and two outs in the bottom of the tenth inning on a walk-off home run, well, that is just how it has went for me the past two seasons and in some way it is the nature of this gambling game.  You have to get the last out before you can cash your ticket.

Raisel Iglesias is one of the guys you'd want on the mound in that situation.  It didn't go our way.  Rookie Braden Montgomery gets the big hit and the White Sox spoil our parlay bet.

I'm almost immune to the losses.  If I would have been following the game live, it may have stung more than it does as I write this post.  Checking the scores in the morning, it registers merely as a loss and not so much a dramatic destruction of my hopes and dreams.

Exciting game in Chicago.  Credit Erick Fedde and the White Sox bullpen with this win.  Fedde gave the White Sox five good innings. He was on the brink and exited with the bases-loaded in the top of the sixth.  White Sox lefty Tyler Gilbert got Michael Harris to ground out to end the inning.  It was a big at-bat and a big out.  Harris collects a hit in that spot and the Braves win that game.

Tyler Davis, Seranthony Dominguez and Grant Taylor kept the Sox in the game.  Braden Montgomery, in his first MLB game, is the hero and gets the game ball.  Two big hits last night for the rookie, three RBI.  A walk-off game winner and that is good for some momentum heading into today's action.

Max Meyer and the Marlins did their part.  A 10-6 Marlins win.  It wasn't Meyer's best start.  He allowed a pair of homers to Corbin Carroll and Gilbert Moreno and seven hits on the night.  Meyer's effort was good enough, however, with the Marlins' bats coming alive to score ten runs. We were right about Zac Gallen, he is a good bet for three-plus runs.  Marlins got him for four last night and hung a crooked number on lefty reliever Brandyn Garcia in the eighth to seal the victory.  Garcia takes the loss.

The Marlins have a good bullpen.  Tyler Zuber is likely to be out after last night's three-run blow up but the Marlins' group as a whole has pitched well.  I feel like this team is a bullpen arm, a pair of starting pitchers and an impact bat away from competing for the NL East.  Owen Caissie continues to struggle.  The Edward Cabrera and Ryan Weathers trades continue to look like bad decisions.  With those two in the rotation, the Marlins could have made a run at the World Series this year.  They would have had the best rotation in MLB and that what if continues to plague Marlin's fans.

It's another tough loss for the Pickstreak blog.  The defeat is lingering under the surface.  I'll try and smooth out the effects of this loss with a hot coffee.  Turn the page.  It's only June 10th.

Stay tuned for Game Day later this afternoon and Today's Pick before the late afternoon games post.
