Game Day: June 11th, 2026

White Sox continue to win games taking two from the Braves without Murakami and Colson Montgomery and that is sort of scary.  They'll get Kyle Teel back soon, Austin Hays, Murakami and Montgomery will return too and that's a pretty significant boost.  Shane Smith could rejoin the rotation at some point.  He did make the all-star team last season and he could potentially put it together again this year.  Hagen Smith also looks ready for a look and that is potentially two big arms added to a rotation that has held up rather well this season.  Davis Martin is an all-star.  Anthony Kay has pitched well.  Sean Newcomb looks likely to join the rotation and Sean Burke has pitched well enough to be considered a solid four.  Smith and Smith with Sandlin and Schultz working in long-relief, the White Sox don't have to make any trades to remain competitive and that bodes well for a team that is on the hook for some high dollar contract extensions.  Murakami-son is going to be looking at 30 to 40M per.  Colson Montgomery is, at the very least,  going to be on par with Konnor Griffin in Pittsburgh.  Davis Martin has earned a big payday and he is a pitcher that you really don't want to see go.  Window has opened a year early but at a cost it seems.  Payrolls are going up on the Southside.  It's all worth while.  The stadium has been packed and it has been rocking at Rate Field.  White Sox fans are great fans when that team is winning they are a raucous audience.  It could be a Cinderella year for Chicago.  I think they are going to fall off the carriage and the glass slipper, it doesn't fit, but it's been a fun season and that is good times for White Sox fans no matter how it wraps in September.

The Marlins would look really great with Edward Cabrera and Ryan Weathers in the rotation.  You could say that Edward Cabrera hasn't thrown the ball well this season but he isn't all that happy with his new team.  It took him three seasons to get comfortable in Miami and get in a rhythm.  He would be lighting it up in Miami this season and the Marlins would be well on their way to winning the NL East. .

As it stands, Eddy is struggling on the Northside of Chicago and the Marlins are going to cash in on Sandy Alcantara.  It's a snoozer of a season for Miami who should be penalized for being anti-competitive this season.  Cubs should be penalized every time we have to hear their fans sing "Go Cubs Go".

The Mets are desperate to win games but can't solve the David Peterson quandary.  Peterson looks like a beauty one night and then the sun shines on him some and he looks like a warty hag.  It's a real issue.  Sean Manaea is no better and they owe him a truck load of dough. Mets are toast this season if they can't get a starter or two sooner than later.  They should be in on Sandy Alcantara and they should be willing to send out what is needed.  Jonah Tong, enjoy Miami!  Jack Wenninger, pack up your locker.  Ronny Mauricio and Mark Vientos, plenty of Cuban sandwiches to be enjoyed in your future.

Alcantara, McLean, Peralta, Scott is a nice group at the top and could be enough with Manaea, Peterson and Senga working as a three-headed dragon in the five.

That's it for Game Day today, I have to cut it short.  I am trying to get a pick in tonight and it is a short slate with only eight games on the card.  Only three games night games available to me.  I do like the look of all three games and I might run with it.  I'm going to put in some research and see if there is any advantage.

I never "wing it".  If the numbers look good, I'll post a pick.  If they don't, I'll pass and take the rest of the night off.

Stay tuned.
