Pick Result: "Standing Room Only" Parlay - WIN

Chicago got out to an early lead.  It was Ian Happ with a three-run homer in the first.  I was resigned to a long night.  Cardinals' veteran free agent, Nelson Velasquez, let me off the hook with a three-run shot in the bottom half of the first to even the score.

Andre Pallante didnt't pitch well, allowed eight hits and four earned runs in 3.0 innings and was out of the game in the fourth. The Cardinals had a day off on Thursday and had a well rested bullpen.  Manager, Oliver Marmol, deployed six Cardinals' relievers last night.  The Red Birds' bullpen combined for 6.0 innings, allowed only three hits, and held the Cubs to one run, keeping St. Louis in the game.  Riley O'Brien locked it down in the ninth for his 14th save of the season. Credit the Cardinals' relief pitching with the win tonight.

Our read on Imanaga was spot on.  Imanaga surrendered three homers to the Cardinals last night before getting the hook.  Craig Counsel had plans to rest his bullpen for the weekend and let Imanaga work into the sixth inning.

The Cubs are a tired team and that showed up in the latter innings of this game.  They couldn't muster any strength in the ninth. Pete Crow led off the inning with a double and the Cubs brought the tying run to the plate with no outs.  A homer ties this game.  It was Hoerner, Busch and Bregman.  The heart of the Cubs' lineup.  They only managed to score one run on a fielder's choice.

It's a 6-5 Cardinals win and our parlay bet is alive heading into the Yankees and A's game.

The Yanks score four runs in the first inning off Luis Severino and cruise to an 8-2 win in Sacramento.  The A's yanked Severino after the first inning but the damage was done.  Carlos Rodon pitched well, gets 6.0 innings, a quality start and his first win of the season.  Yanks' bullpen had a nice and easy ride with a big lead late.  Blackburn mopped it up with 2.0 innings to close out the victory for the Bronx Bombers.

That's a win for the Pickstreak blog and it was juicy at (+259).
