World Series Picks

World Series odds havent changed too dramatically and we are 20 games into the season.

The Los Angeles Dodgers are the prohibitive favorite at (+250) with the New York Yankees posted at (+850).

I have both of those teams winning their division and making the playoffs.  Seattle has the next best odds at (+1100) and is another division winner that I selected.

I like both bets.  I like a lot of bets on the futures.  In fact, there are seven teams that I would lay a bet on this week:

New York Yankees (+850)
Seattle Mariners (+1100)
Detroit Tigers (+2200)
Boston Red Sox (+2800)
San Diego Padres (+4000)
Cincinatti Reds (+5000)
Cleveland Guardians (+5500)

You can bet one unit on each and still have a positive expectation on the bet as a group.  I think its a good bet and if the Reds or the Guardians win, you get paid 40 units to 45 units.  That's a nice return and those are the two teams I like to make the World Series this season.

My pick for the World Series this season is the Cincinatti Reds over the Cleveland Guardians.  That will be a great series.  The battle of the Ohio baseball clubs!  

I know I picked the Brewers to win the NL Central earlier in the week and this pick is somewhat converse to that selection but Sal Stewart has been absolutely crushing the ball.as has Elly De La Cruz.  The Reds have some good players on the farm to plug in this season should injuries arise and their pitching is absolutely stacked.  They could have both the best rotation and the best bullpen in the MLB.  What is really impressive is that bith their rotation and their bullpen has quality depth beyond the MLB active roster.  Cincinatti has a stock of good arms on the farm that would likely be on the activd roster of many ball clubs around the league.

I am picking the Cleveland Guardians to represent the AL.  This pick is a stretch, the Yankees have a better team and when they get rolling they are going to be tough to beat, the Tigers too are stacked and the Mariners can win it all, but the Guardians are getting good pitching and they are a young and talented team that plays well together.  

Reds over Guardians this season.  Get a small bet in on both to win the World Series, it could pay off big in October.

Today's Pick: CIN (-165) over MIA

Today's Pick: A 2 Team Parlay

I have 1.56 units in play after yesterday's quasi-disappointment.   I'm going to rack a unit, and play a two team parlay tonight.  I've been stuck on 32 units banked for two weeks now.   I can't stand the number 32.  It has everything to do with Magic Johnson.  I don't like magic and I don't like Johnson.   Anyhow, now that we have 33 units in the bank, I feel better. Jose Canseco wore number 33.  Still one of my favorite players of all time.   No analysis today, I'm just making a pick.  My season for the most part is over.  I have 0.56 units in play, 4.0 units in my account, and 33 units in the bank.   The pick is a parlay on the Astros (-350) ML / Blue Jays (-175) ML for a (+105) payout. Wednesday, August 6th: No Pick Today

No pick today, there isn't much on the board that I liked.  I didn't dig into any games but the Giants and the Pirates early this morning.  I liked the Giants but they don't hit left handed pitching all that well and Pirates had a well rested bullpen.  The Giants won that game 4-2.   I had thought about putting on my three dogs play with the Rangers, Reds and the Royals.  The Reds are down 6-0.  That would have been a loser.   There are some games later this afternoon and some late games too but I am going to take a pass on the action today and see if I can find a good spot tomorrow.   I'm sitting at 5.36 units in play and have a four game Pickstreak on the line.  We'll look to make it five in a row tomorrow.
