Postgame Report: TOR (-175) Loss

The Blue Jays lost 2-1 in a sleepy game that didn't see a lot of offense.

Johan Oveido only allowed two hits and struck out six over five innings of work.  It was a complete surprise to be honest.  This is a guy who had only thrown 27.0 innings in rehabilitation from Tommy John surgery.  Oviedo gets the win today.

Chris Bassitt had a good start:  5.2IP 6H 2ER 10K 2BB -- it's what I was looking for from Bassitt today. He pitched good enough to win this game but didn't get any run support.

It was a 2-1 ballgame heading into the sixth.  Four innings from the Pirates' bullpen and only a one run deficit to overcome.  I thought the Blue Jays were a lock but their bats were asleep.

The lineup with Varsho, France and Gimenez isn't the lineup that has been winning games for the Blue Jays.  It's been Clement, Heineman and Loperfido when the going has been good.  I didn't like the lineup when I saw it posted pregame but still thought the Blue Jays would pull this game out.

The Pirates' bullpen locked it down today.  Kyle Nicolas and Ian Mattson combined for three scoreless and Dennis Santana only needed eight pitches in the ninth to record his ninth save of the season.

It's another tough loss.  I felt like this game was a lock and am rattled some by what I feel is a bad loss.  Two bad losses in a row.  I'm frothier than a root beer float.  I don't know what to do next.  I'm definitely off for the rest of the day.

I only have six units left in my account and am eight short of breaking even.  It's looking to be a losing season for me.  It's hard to cope with honestly.

It's not so much the money as it is being defeated when you put in so much effort to get an edge.  To feel like you can only win if you have luck and fortune on your side really destroys me.

I'm really looking forward to the end of the regular season.  I'm not going to piss the last six bets away, I'm going to make my best effort but I'm not feeling optimistic about finishing the season with forty units and that makes me a loser.
