Postgame Report: A Parlay Loser

Both legs of my parlay missed last night, dropping my record on parlays this season to 2-4.

I'm surprised, I liked the pick.  I liked both games.

Blue Jays' closer Jeff Hoffman blew a late lead in the ninth, allowing four earned runs on a pair of homers.  Astros ace Hunter Brown allowed five earned runs and the Astros' bats could only manage one run on six hits off rookie starter Tanner Gordon.  They got shut out by the Rockies' bullpen.

I'm done digging into the postgame reports this season too.  I'm dragging up early like a rookie starter on an innings limit.

Out of gas.  Don't have it anymore.  Playing loose with my final four units.

The situation is:

Buy In:  40 Units
Units In Play:  1.0 Units
Units In Account:  3.0 Units
Units Banked:  33.0 Units
Profit/Loss:  -4.0 Units
Overall Record (STR):  52-31
Overall Record (PAR):  2-4

I always keep my units in play bankroll separate from my current account balance, and both of these ledgers separate from the bank.  Once I bank a unit, it's out of play for the remainder of the season.

I bought in for 40 units.  I have banked 33 units.  1.0 unit in play, and 3.0 units in my current account.

I feel like I've had a bad season over all.  But the most I can lose is seven units.  That's a 17.5% drawdown on my investment.  It's a big loss when you look at it that way but it could be worse.

I still have four more runs at banking some more units.  A three game winning streak of plus money picks would put my units in play up to 8.0 units.  1 to 2, 2 to 4, 4 to 8.

I bank eight units and I'm up on the season.

Uncertain how I'm going to play it.  I had a strategy to bet favorites all the way out but looking at last night's scores, it's a crap shoot.  Heavy favorites are getting busted.  Aces are pitching with dead arms.  Teams that are out of contention are playing loose and care free and they are winning games.

I still like the home team strategy and am still leaning on teams in contention but there are a lot of land mines out there.

Sure would be nice to put together one or two more winning streaks before the end of the season.  I still have a shot at a winning season if I can do just that.
