Misery is the real reason most people gamble. I dont think it has much to do with making money. Most gamblers relish the misery that comes with losing. I prefer winning myself, and so does everybody else, everbody likes riding the highs but it's coping with the losses that is the most challenging part of playing this game. No matter how good you think you are the tables can turn on you and your pockets can be emptied. It's a paralyzing emotional state. Resignation to the present, underlying hatred and anger, this deep sense of sorrow and self pity and in some way a sense of relief. It is this tangled sense of emotional frustration that bubbles to the surface through the machinations of the sportsbook and sports gambling. I play for fun, I don't gamble money because I don't have the money to gamble. I make the picks as an exercise and to keep myself busy but I still get the same sense of frustration and the same pain that comes from losing because I hate losing so god damn badly. Im going to keep this one short because this pick is mostly being made on the fact that I think Frankie Montas is going to get shelled today and the Mets' bullpen is a complete disaster. Add to that mix Carlos Rodon starting for the Yankees and it's a good price at (-145). I'm playing one unit on the Yankees to win today.

I like the price on the D'Backs at home. Corbin Carroll returns from the 10-Day IL and starter Ryne Nelson has been Arizona's best over the past month. Their bullpen has a few rested arms, Shelby Miller should be available to close this one out if Kevin Ginkel doesn't blow it in the middle innings.
