Postgame Report: PHI (-135) Loss
Aaron Judge out of the lineup was enough for me but it wasn't enough for the Phillies today. The Yanks avoided the sweep with a 4-3 win.
The Phillies gave Wheeler a 3-0 lead early but it was Wheeler who lost this game in the bottom half of the second. He pegged a pair of Yankee hitters to load the bases for third baseman Ryan McMahon. In his first game as a Yankee, McMahon played the hero. He jumped on a 2-1 curveball and hit a double, scoring a pair. A sac fly scored Stanton from third and a base hit from Trent Grisham scored McMahon from second. 4-3 Yankees after two. The two hit batsman was the difference today.
Credit the Yankees bullpen with this win. They threw four scoreless to close it out.
I'm in a rut with the picks. July has been awful. I've given back all my profits from the early season and find myself down 3.00 units heading into next week. It's the lowest my account has been all season.
I have 28 units in the bank, need to get to 40 units to break even on the season. I have 9.00 units left in my current account. Nine more losses and my season is a wrap. I have to turn 9.00 units into 13.00 for a profitable season. It's certainly not impossible but the way I have been picking lately it seems unlikely.
I put in a lot of work this season. It will be dissappointing to finish the year on a down note but that's the game, there are no guarantees that come with putting in time and effort. The lucky man can win just as easily as the studied grinder.
I'll stick to my studied efforts. Even if I lose some dough this year I'll take away a lot of knowledge. But I'd sure like to post a winning season. It's what I've been playing for more than anything else.
