Postgame Report: MIA (+120) Loss

The Orioles won last night 5-2 in a game that they led wire to wire.

Baltimore got a pair of runs in the first off Marlins' starter Edward Cabrera.  The early deficit seemed to rattle him but from what I garner, the Marlins' starter had his best game working.  Cabrera was getting a lot of swing and miss.  He had six strikeouts in 4.0IP. All six batters struck out swinging.  He nailed Henderson.  He nailed Holliday.  He nailed Westburg.

Eight hits and four earned is how the boxscore will tell it.  A loss for Cabrera.  But his filthy curveball was in the zone and missing bats.  He was hitting 99 with the four seamer and the sinker.

Credit the O's bats for getting to Cabrera in the first.  The Orioles put together some good at bats, put the ball in play and found some gaps.

Dean Kremer pitched seven scoreless innings of three hit baseball.  He struck out seven in his best start of the season.  After a raunchy start against the Braves last week, Kremer gets the game ball in this one.  He doesn't have the stuff that Cabrera does, but often times the cooler head prevails.

It's a tough loss.  I really liked the pick and thought that the edge was with the Marlins, even as +120 road dogs.  The Orioles got the early lead for their starter and Dean Kremer pitched a great game for Balty.
