Postgame Report: SFG (-180) Winner
Great game this afternoon in San Francisco. The Giants ended their four-game slide with a 2-1 victory over the Guardians.
The Giants offense wasn't formidable but credit Gavin Williams with a quality start. He pitched six good innings, only allowed three hits and only walked three batters. He didn't allow a run in the game and exited in the bottom of the seventh with a 1-0 lead.
Logan Webb also posted a quality start and picks up his seventh win of the season. He struck out nine Guardians over seven innings of one run ball.
The bullpens were the difference today. Cleveland was without Gaddis, Smith and Herrin and relied on Matt Festa and Nick Enright in seventh. A pair of baseunners credited to Festa led to a pair of earned runs as Enright couldn't escape the high leverage situation.
With a 2-1 lead, Giants reliever Randy Rodriguez got the call. Rodriguez had two K's in the inning and didn't allow a baserunner. Camilo Doval picked up his 11th save of the season.
That is three wins in a row for the Pickstreak. We are up to 3.7 units in play. There is a full slate of games on the schedule for tomorrow. Let's see if we can make it four in a row.
