Postgame Report: LAD (-235) Winner

I didn't follow the game early and tuned into the scores later in the afternoon.  I was almost as surprised to see that it was 3-0 Nationals after five as I was to read the news about the bombing of Iran.

Michael Soroka was dealing.  He had recorded 10 K's and only allowed one hit.  I checked in on the Dodger's box, Ohtani struck out two to start the game and was once again pulled after an inning.  Ben Casparius took over in the second and gave up a three run homer to Nathaniel Lowe in the third.  The rookie has pitched well this season but he isn't a pitcher you expect to shut down a team.  He managed to grind out five innings of work and kept the Dodgers in the game.

In the bottom of the sixth, Davey Martinez left Soroka in the game.  He had only thrown 74 pitches, he had only allowed one baserunner.  Dalton Rushing doubled, a walk to Ohtani, he beaned Freddie Freeman and got the hook.  Jose Ferrer gave up the grand slam to Max Muncy.  4-3 Dodgers.

Ryan Loutos took the ball for the Nationals in the bottom of the seventh. Loutos was charged with six earned runs without recording an out.  It was 11-3 after seven.  Ohtani would add a two run homer in the eighth to make it 13-3 Dodgers.

Another bad night for the Nationals bullpen.  Washington would go on to score four runs in the top of the ninth but the game was out of reach.  Dodgers win 13-7.

I can't stand the Dodger's, it pains me to root for them.  It was a good bet and I cashed a ticket.  Five winners in a row.  I'll take it.
