Postgame Report: HOU (-150) Winner

I had thought the game was going to be cancelled with the rain delay having lasted nearly three hours but they played with the first pitch being thrown at 10:02 EDT.

I'm a little surprised this morning to see the box score but it's good news with the Astros taking the victory 8-2.

The pick was made on Framber Valdez and Framber delivered with a slash of 7.0IP 4H 2ER 11K 3BB -- there are a lot of good pitchers in the AL, its hard to win a Cy Young, but Framber Valdez is in contention for the honors, he has been one of MLB's best starters this season.

It's more than likely that the both teams were ready to head home when the game started, that advantage went to Valdez early, he struck out the first four Pirates hitters he faced.

Credit the Astros bats for giving their guy some runs in this one.  With an early 4-1 lead, Valdez cruised through seven.  Bryan Abreu pitched a clean frame in the eighth and Kaleb Ort nailed down the ninth for Houston.

The top of the Astros order went 7 for 17 on the night, Isaac Parades hit two home runs.  Mitch Keller's fastball got tagged in this one.

It's a win for the Pickstreak, that's three in a row.

Back to the board tomorrow.
