Postgame Report: DET (-325) Winner

The Tigers win 3-0 in a game that flew by.  Two hours and nineteen minutes officially.

Tarik Skubal was mowing them down.  He must have read the Cy Young pole over at MLB Trade Rumors.  They asked who was most deserving of the award at the half-way point.  I had said Zach Wheeler with Logan Webb a close second.

Skubal certainly made his case tonight:  7.0 IP 1H 0ER 13K 1BB -- it was a dominant start for the 28 year-old righty.  The seven scoreless innings lowered Skubal's ERA to 2.15 on the season.  Skubal moves to 10-2 with the victory.

The Tigers bullpen only had a three run lead to work with.  It was Tommy Kahnle in the eighth and Will Vest in the ninth.  Vest picks up his 13th save of the season.

Minnesota played a good game.  Their bullpen locked down three scoreless innings, striking out five.  The starting pitching was the difference in this one.  The Tigers hit a pair of early home runs off Twin's starter Chris Paddack and that's all they needed.

It's nice to get a pair of wins today.  I had been planning on playing two games earlier this afternoon.  I had liked the Tigers game at first glance with it being a home start for Skubal against a Twins team that has at times struggled to score runs.
