Friday, June 13th: No Pick Today
I looked at the board this morning, there are a lot of plus money plays that I like at first glance.
Paul Skenes is getting plus money against an overrated Cubs offense. He should mow them down today. He faces off with rookie Cade Horton who hasn't impressed. Cubs bullpen has been worked the past couple of days.
I like plus money on Edward Cabrera and the Marlins today too, Mitchell Parker has been good for four runs a start, and the Nationals bullpen is still shaky.
The Angels look like a good play against Baltimore. Charlie Morton has been good for four or five runs in the majority of his starts this season. Baltimore still can't hit and their bullpen is weak. They are one of the worst teams in baseball. Worse than the Angels I'd say. Kochanowicz has shown some promise, if he can keep the walks down the Angels can pull out a win. At +150, it's a good pick.
I like the Athletics getting +150 at KC today. Luis Severino has been excellent on the road and the Royals hit like a bunch of bananas.
I like the Twins today. Chris Paddack has been good and he faces off with rookie, Colton Gordon. Gordon is plugging up the Astros rotation after season ending injuries to Hayden Wesneski and Ronel Blanco. Paddack has flashed some good stuff this season. Twins are getting +115.
I like the Padres too, Stephen Kolek has been better than expected. Ryne Nelson has been bad for the D'Backs and their bullpen is awful. The Padres, unlike the Mariners, can hit and score runs.
I said I was taking a few days off to study and regroup and that's what I'm trying to accomplish this weekend -- so no picks from me until next week. It looks like rain all weekend so I'll have to improvise. My office is a patch of gravel across from the hardware store, we don't have a roof.
