Today's Pick: PHI (-155) over TBR

I checked the pregame report prior to post, both Jonathan Aranda and Kameron Misner are out of the Ray's lineup.  Aranda and Misner were both on fire to start April.  Their lineup doesn't look nearly as formidable without the trio of Aranda, Misner and Mangum, who is still on the DL.

Shane Baz starts for Tampa.  He is a bit of a wild card, relying primarily on a four seamer that sits 96MPH and a knuckle curve ball.  His numbers are good across the board and his fastball has rated as one of the games best, but his last two starts at Steinbrenner Field haven't went well.  I'm betting that he will have his third off night in a row on the Ray's temporary home turf in Tampa.

Christopher Sanchez starts for the Phillies.  The 6'6'' lefty had a brief setback with forearm tightness but made a start last week, pitching five innings and picking up his third win.  It wasn't an eye-popping game for the third year pro.  Sanchez struck out 12 against the Giants earlier this year before his brief stint on the DL.  He has that kind of game when he is on and is one of MLB's most promising young starters.

The Rays offense has struggled over the last week, posting a collective line of .201/.277/.261.  Tampa's offense is hitting just .189/.278/.275. against lefties on the season.  Both trends play well with a front of the rotation lefty taking the ball for Philadelphia.

I've reloaded the current account with 1 unit and will lay the odds tonight at (-155).  I'll be looking for a Phillies win when I check the scores in the morning.
