Today's Pick: DET (-165) over LAA

After last night's loss on Detroit, we ponied up another token and are back in the game.  We'll go back to the well once again and take Detroit to win the series at The Big "A" in Anaheim.

It may seem like I'm picking on the Angels here but I really like Detroit's starting pitching.  Reece Olson has only allowed one homer in 33.0IP.  He is getting a lot of groundballs and has a decent 2.95 K/BB ratio, striking out 8.7 per 9IP.  He has a similar pitch mix to Jack Flaherty, relying on sinker, slider, changeup without the power fast ball.

The Angels faired well against Flaherty last night and that is a little concerning, but I like the Tigers offense to pull it together and score some runs.

Jack Kochanowicz starts for LA and he is the Angel's number five, having beaten out Reid Detmers for the job this spring.  The 6'7'' righty is sitting 96MPH with his heat but his off speed stuff has been slapped around like a tetherball.

The Angels bullpen might be rested but they aren't all that reliable.  In fact, as a group, I'd say they have been as unreliable as any bullpen in MLB.  I like Detroit and will lay the odds at (-165).
