Postgame Report: SDP (-230) Loss

Four walks and a grand slam in the ninth and the Angels win 9-5.  

It's a disappointing loss.  Robert Suarez had been 15 of 15 in save opportunities and had only allowed one earned run before last night's dead arm outing.  Suarez entered the game with a 5-3 lead, struck out the first batter he faced, gave up a single to Luis Rengifo, and then he walked four batters in a row.  Alex Jacob was called on to relieve Suarez but couldn't escape the bases loaded jam and gave up the grand slam homerun that put the Angels up 9-5.  

Dolly Parton couldn't have sang it any better.  Five earned runs and a loss charged to Suarez.

Credit Taylor Ward with the big hit, he finished 2-5 with a homer and four RBI.

Suarez was due for a blown save but you'd have to think that it was some sort of injury that took away his control.  He had only issued four walks all season entering last night's game.

The Angels continue to win a few here and win few there.  Last night's win at Petco Park was a doozy.  Even Trout had a smile on his face.
