Postgame Report: PHI (-280) Winner
This is my second season blogging picks. I made picks back in 2021 and finished the season up 27 units. It was a good year.
This season, I have been more cautious and it has cost me some profits but I'm up 2 units and following last nights win, I have 2.62 units in play and a four game Pickstreak on the line.
The Phillies beat the Rockies 2-0 last night on 6.2 shutout innings from starter Ranger Suarez. The Rockies had runners in scoring position in the second, third and fourth inning but failed to get a run home. Suarez had six strikeouts but got some good fortune and good defense. He moves to 3-0 on the season.
The Phillies bullpen held the lead in the eighth and the ninth with closer Jordan Romano notching his sixth save of the season.
The Rockies surprisingly outhit the Phillies seven to four in the game, and had their chances to win this one. German Marquez had his best start of the season: 7.0IP 4H 1ER 5K 2BB, and earned himself another turn in the rotation. Jake Bird recorded a pair of strikeouts out of the Rockies bullpen and now has a 1.80 ERA in 30.0IP. His 11.1K/9 is a solid mark, if he continues to pitch well, he could find himself in the all-star game.
Back to the board tomorrow, Looking to finish May strong.
