Postgame Report: PHI (-155) Winner
The Phillies won 7-0 last night. Shane Baz blew up in the fourth, exiting the game after allowing eight hits and six earned runs in 3.1IP. It was another rough outing for Baz at Steinbrenner Field.
Christopher Sanchez was sterling, allowing only one hit over six innings pitched while striking out five Rays' batters to pick up his fourth win of the season.
Taijuan Walker went double platinum in relief of Sanchez. He entered the game in the top of the seventh, struck out seven while also only allowing one hit in three innings of mop up duty. Walker picks up a save for his efforts.
It seems that Philly has a good problem on their hands with both Taijuan Walker and prospect Andrew Painter serving as depth to a rotation that is already one of the league's best.
Ranger Suarez's return from the DL moved Walker to the Phillies' bullpen. Walker has one more year left on his deal with the Phillies and has made his case to be in the rotation, pitching to a 2.30 ERA in 31.1IP on the season. It will be interesting to see if Philadelphia attempts to move Walker before the trade deadline.
Back to the board tomorrow with a one game Pickstreak on the line.
