Postgame Report: LAD (-260) loser
Dodgers lost to the Marlins 5-4 in extra innings. Cal Quantrill tossed his best game of the season, only allowing four hits over five innings, striking out six.
The Dodgers briefly took the lead in the top of the sixth. Shohei Ohtani and Freddie Freeman both hit solo homers off lefty reliever Anthony Veneziano.
With a 3-2 lead, the Dodgers pulled Tony Gonsolin out of the game after what was a good start: 5IP 4H 2ER 8K 2BB. He had only thrown 82 pitches.
Lefty Luis Garcia entered the game for the Dodgers in the sixth and was tagged for a pair of runs on three hits.
The Dodgers would tie the game but lost in extras. Reliever JP Feyerson takes the loss for LA.
I didn't like Dave Roberts pulling Gonsolin after five innings. He only threw 77 pitches in his first start, 82 last night. It appears like he is being limited to 80 pitches in his starts.
Teoscar Hernandez and Mookie Betts were both out of the lineup for the Dodgers last night. I put the pick in before the lineups were released. It is always best to get the lineups before you put in your picks. I took a shortcut last night. I think I would have still taken the Dodgers had I known but it could have shaken me out of pick.
Back to the board, let's see if I can find a winner. Congratulations to Cal Quantrill on his best start of the season.
