Postgame Report: DET (-165) Winner
The Tigers got back to their winning ways, pushing their record to an AL best 22-13 on the season. A great start from Reece Olson: 5.2IP 3H 0ER 8K 3BB. You could say that Detroit has four aces in the rotation.
The Tigers demolished the Angels bullpen after getting five earned runs off starter Jack Kochanowicz. Michael Darrell-Hicks entered the game in the top of the sixth and allowed a three run homer to Kerry Carpenter. In the seventh, shortstop Trey Sweeney rang his third dinger of the season, also a three run bomb, off reliever Jose Fermin. Touki Toussaint nailed down a clean frame in the eighth but gave up a pair of runs in the ninth to make it a 13-1 game. The Tiger's bags were packed. The Angels bullpen needed shoveling.
It was another impressive win for a Tiger's team that have to be considered legitimate contenders to win the AL regular season crown.
We picked on the Angels four games in a row. It wasn't the plan, it just worked out that way. I liked the pitching matchups each day of the series, and each day, I came to the conclusion that the Tigers were the best bet on the board. It says a lot about the Tiger's rotation.
Back to the board tomorrow with 1.61 units in play.
