Postgame Report: BAL (-130) Loss
The Twins win their 11th game in a row blanking the O's this afternoon at Camden Yards.
Minnesota took the early lead on a two run homer from rookie DaShawn Kiersey Jr. "Tommy Sugar" laid a 3-2 sweeper over the plate and Kiersey Jr. pulled it into the right field bleachers. It was a bad pitch to the nine hole hitter who entered the game hitting .086.
Byron Buxton hit his tenth longball on the very next pitch, a 91 mph sinker, and it was 3-0 Twins.
Sugano didn't have a bad game, he gave up another earned run in the top of the seventh, but managed to pitch 6.1 innings, allowing only six hits and a walk. He takes the loss and moves to 4-3 on the season.
Chris Paddack continued to throw the ball well. He only allowed three hits over seven innings and got a lot of grounders, including two double plays. Paddack only had three K's on the day but two of them came in the bottom of the fifth with a runner in scoring position.
The Orioles struggle to score runs. Even if Sugano only allowed one run, the Orioles would have still lost.
It wasn't all bad, I racked a unit and only bet my profit from Wednesday's winner. I was happy to override my analytical sense and go with my gut today. It was a bad price, the Twins entered with a ten game winning streak, but I had a feeling about Baltimore. I liked the pick, I stuck with my instinct. It didn't pay off but I managed my risk accordingly and shook off some tension. It was a loose pick and it loosened me up. Still in the game with nine units in the rack.
All thirty teams are scheduled to play tomorrow. There should be some good games. Let's see if I can find a winner or two.
