Today's Pick: PIT (+115) over LAA
Arrrrgh, Matey, the weather is warming up, and so is this Pickstreak blog. Where's me road dog? Pass me a cold one. It's a Pirates game for me tonight.
Andrew Heaney starts for Pittsburgh in game two of a three game series in Anaheim. The former Angel has been excellent, posting a 2.13 ERA while pitching six plus innings in three of four starts on the season. He'll face Jack Kochanowicz who carries in a 6.20 ERA and has recorded just nine strike outs over 20.1 innings pitched. The walks aren't bad, he has only allowed six total, but opponents are hitting everything he throws in the zone and have posted a line of .291/.348/.456 against Kochanowicz on the season. That's Juan Soto territory.
The Pirates put together 18 hits last night in a 9-3 road win at Angel Stadium. The Halos bullpen was taxed heavily in the loss and if Kochanowicz's early track record is indicative of tonight's performance, they will be called on to pitch four or five innings on short rest. That bodes well for the Pirates, who have a well rested bullpen and are twice as likely to get good innings out of their starting pitcher.
One other stat I found interesting. The Pirates as a team have an OPS of .688 in night games versus just .578 in day games. The Angels have hit dramatically worse at night, with an OPS of .649 in night games compared to .753 in day games.
I like the Pirates under the lights in Anaheim and am getting odds to take them at (+115).

*Yesterday's winner payed 2.2 units, and today's bet was for 1.2 units. I raked back 1 unit and took some risk off with the plus money pick on. The current pickstreak continues without any risk of losing my initial 1 unit wager. Only my open profits of 1.2 units are at risk.
