Today's Pick: ATL (-275) over COL

The Braves are 14-15 on the season and will look to even it up with a sweep of the Rockies this afternoon at Coors Field in Denver, Colorado.

It's 36 year old Chris Sale for the Braves.  Atlanta's ace has needed a few starts to get his cranky back warm but he still has shown the ability to get hitters out with one of the game's best sliders.  Opponents are hitting .350 against his four seamer over his first five starts but he hasn't lost any velocity on the pitch, and a .404 BABIP (batting average of balls in play) says that number is inflated.  His 11.3K/9 and his tendency to keep the ball in the park plays well at Coors Field.

He'll face rookie Chase Dollander who is off to a rocky start.  He sports a 7.91 ERA in four starts for the purple mountain majesties.  His four seamer sits at a respectable 98MPH but the pitch has been tagged early and he has yet to show confidence in his curve ball.  Dollander has allowed six homers in his first two starts at Coors field. 

The Braves have won six of seven and are hot with the bats.  Alex Verdugo has been leading off and has hit .348 since joining the team two weeks ago, and Eli White has a 1.012 OPS in his first look as the Braves starting RF.  Top to bottom, the Braves have shown the ability to get hits and score runs.  

The Rockies statistically are the worst offensive team in baseball.  I don't see it getting any better for them.  They are seemingly void of talent. 

I like the Braves to sweep Colorado in a day game at Coors field.  The line opened at (-245) on the Braves today and has moved sharply since.  I've seen it as high as (-305) at Caesars, but you can still get (-275) at BetMGM.

With a six game Pickstreak on the line, I'm pressing my full stack on Atlanta.  If I get an early win, I like the price on the Yankees (-105) this evening, and might put on a second pick.

Today's Pick: A 2 Team Parlay

I have 1.56 units in play after yesterday's quasi-disappointment.   I'm going to rack a unit, and play a two team parlay tonight.  I've been stuck on 32 units banked for two weeks now.   I can't stand the number 32.  It has everything to do with Magic Johnson.  I don't like magic and I don't like Johnson.   Anyhow, now that we have 33 units in the bank, I feel better. Jose Canseco wore number 33.  Still one of my favorite players of all time.   No analysis today, I'm just making a pick.  My season for the most part is over.  I have 0.56 units in play, 4.0 units in my account, and 33 units in the bank.   The pick is a parlay on the Astros (-350) ML / Blue Jays (-175) ML for a (+105) payout. Wednesday, August 6th: No Pick Today

No pick today, there isn't much on the board that I liked.  I didn't dig into any games but the Giants and the Pirates early this morning.  I liked the Giants but they don't hit left handed pitching all that well and Pirates had a well rested bullpen.  The Giants won that game 4-2.   I had thought about putting on my three dogs play with the Rangers, Reds and the Royals.  The Reds are down 6-0.  That would have been a loser.   There are some games later this afternoon and some late games too but I am going to take a pass on the action today and see if I can find a good spot tomorrow.   I'm sitting at 5.36 units in play and have a four game Pickstreak on the line.  We'll look to make it five in a row tomorrow.
